The "New" Markuszów Jewish cemetery was established in the mid-18th century. Only a dozen or so tombstones remain standing. We have been working on cleaning the cemetery since 2016 and we erected a new front wall in 2022. This work has been led by Friends of Jewish Heritage in Poland, with the partnership of The Matzevah Foundation, cemetery owner FODŻ (Foundation for preservation of Jewish Heritage in Poland), and the European Jewish Cemeteries Initiative.
